His first foray into the comic's medium was with a run with Marvel's Doctor Strange in the mid-80s. From there, we moved into DC, and helped spearhead the Vertigo line of surreal and adult comic themes along with Grant Morrison in his acclaimed run in the Doom Patrol series.
Since then, more of his work has appeared in such popular and industry-leading comics as Spiderman, Sandman, Preacher, Fantastic Four, and many others too numerous to mention here!
For the past few years, though, he has focused his attention on building the Tim Hunter mythos in the Vertigo and Sandman lines. This has included Hunter: the Names of Magic, and his current run in Hunter: Age of Magic. Working with Dylan Horrocks, they grew the story-line into a fully fleshed world of characters, drama, and intrigue followed by fans all over the world.

Richard's illustrative style developed into a unique vision that takes aspects from animation characterization, layout design, and even architecture design, creating an amazing flare and focus on story-driven artwork; a rare and valuable commodity in the comics industry
